Will definitely go back. Good value for money

Very comfortable and clean hotel. We made the reservation at the last minute when our train to London got cancelled. Staff was accommodating and the room was very comfortable.

The hotel is very modern and clean and I would recommend it to everyone. The staff are very polite and happy to assist with any queries. Our first visit we had an upgraded room which came with nice touches, slippers and robes. This room didn't which was a shame. We opted for an internal room which was very quite as our original room was on the front and at night was noisey with passersby. The choice is yours.

The hotel was in a great location, rooms were lovely, and staff were extremely helpful at all time. Great place to stay

Really enjoyed our stay at the Apex Waterloo - hotel is new and modern, with good facilities. Great location in the city within walking distance to main street and most tourist attractions. Would stay here again.

This hotel has an excellent location however we felt it it was over priced for the standard & quality of service we received, We stayed in a superior room which was clean and comfortable but quite small. Expected better. The room was not serviced to a high standard & on return to our room one day our bathroom toilet had been used & not by us. It was not serviced well at all. Bar had no atmosphere & the hotel staff seemed very inexperienced. We won't be staying again.

Had a great time, service was excellent and staff were very helpfull. Food in the restaurant was excellent, and the bar staff were very good.

We were not sure about this hotel when we booked it but it turned out to be terrific. Don't be fooled by the old looking exterior (everything in Edinburgh looks old) this is a fantastic modern hotel with great decor (especially the lighting scheme). Our room was spacious & comfortable with a walk-in shower & large tub. (Tip: the room key operates all room electrical power including the AC which Staff neglected to tell us). The hotel restaurant had great food and the prices were reasonable. (Tip: book the breakfast buffet when you check in-you will get a discount off full price). Thr bar & lounge was also great. Hotel staff were generally friendly & helpful. The location was great-close to Princes St. and the train station was 5-minutes away. Check out Rose St.-it has great Pubs & shops all close to hotel.

Hotel is located 5 minutes walk from Waterloo train Station. It is very modern and cosy. I was surprised by the quality of the hotel.

Good food, nice rooms and brilliant location right at the top of Princess Street

Excellant location, hotel is very modern and has some nice extra touches to it. Food and service was excellant only dissapointing thing was the swimming pool/spa was cold when we used it.

We stayed there twice and both times, the room views were poor for the money we paid. We had a ally the first stay and no windows the second stay. The hotel room was very nice and clean and the largest bathrooms for our entire stay. I would stay there again, but would look at the room before I said yes!

Only problems were i couldn't get on their wireless and the toilet seat kept sliding off. but once you get over that it was a great hotel. try to avoid rooms on floor one as they have a view of the back yard - and not the one that guests would be allowed in. they could've done that bit up and charged extra for rooms with an outdoor space!

Had read only positive reviews and now I know why. Great location, great price and lovely hotel - what more can I say?

Hotel close to city centre,able to walk to most attractions including Royal yacht. Wonderful use of an existing stone building. My wife enjoyed her swimming and I availed of the treadmill which although is a small space but has all equipment needed. The foyer is bright and airy and staff were very efficient and most helpful. Impressed with digital photography to rear wall of reception. Room was spotless and bed very comfortable and large. My only gripe would be that breakfast is not included in cost.

Excellent location near the train station and only a short walk to the Royal Mile! Hotel staff were all very pleasent and eager to attend to all our needs. The free internet and gym added even more value! I will stay there again on our next visit to Edinburgh!

Lovely hotel, very convenient to city centre. Rooms were well decorated and very clean. Staff were very helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

For the money this place is almost worth it. The only area it lacked for us was the knowledge/service of the desk staff. We talked to 5 different workers in our 4-day stay there and almost no one knew anything about the surrounding area. They didn't even know the name of the car park where we were supposed to park the rental in order to receive a discount from the hotel! The final straw for us was that on the morning we were to catch trains at 5:30am to other parts of the country we ordered a wake up call from the front desk AND IT NEVER CAME! Luckily we had set our phones as back-up. Other than that, the hotel itself is wonderful and the location couldn't be better (just be prepared to bring ear-plugs to sleep... the surrounding pubs go well into the morning on the weekends and it is quite loud.

Outstanding customer service, luxurious room and spa for the money paid. Would not usually expect such a treat for the price - a real gem!

This property is very close to central Edinburgh and was an excellent choice to stay. Nicely kept, friendly staff, and within walking distance to all major attractions. I'd definitely stay here again.

We booked this hotel due to its proximity to the Edinburgh Playhouse where we went to see a concert, and becuse of the good reviews we had read. Room was nice and very clean, but the service left a lot to be desired. We went out in the morning, about ten am but upon return at approx three pm, we were surprised that our room had not been made up, despite leaving the sign to do so, in front of door. We were tired from a late night before as our flight was delayed, so decided to forget about the room makeup service and take a nap. I turned the do not disturb light on but when I was just about to disappear into land ot dreams, the phone rang and it was the house cleaning, asking if we would like our room made up now! This was about four pm. I find this unacceptable in a four star hotel. Upon checking out, I was asked if all had been ok, so I brought this issue up, but all they did was say so sorry which in my books is not enough to get me into an Apex hotel ever again.

The hotel was very clean and modern. A minutes walk and you are on Princess Street.Very comfortable bed with lovely big soft pillows. The bathroom had a big bath and walk in shower! There was a wide screen television although we did not have time to use it. The staff were very polite and helpful. Excellent breakfast with a good choice.

We would highly recommend this new hotel which only opened a few months ago. The decor is a lovely mix of the original Georgian frontage and contemporary interior design. The bar area and restaurant are spacious and relaxing. The food ( both room service and restaurant ) were excellent, as was the customer service. We were well looked after. Our standard room was a good size and very clean with large flat screen tv and sofa and good storage, but the only downside was the dim lighting - which was in keeping with the design but there was no option to brighten the lights when needed. There's a lovely spa area with a pool, and the location is a couple of minutes from Waverley station. Close enough to walk to all the major attractions but not in the thick of all the bars so we did not experience any noise at night.

Excellent all rounder great place close to the city either for business or pleasure

This one of the best hotels I have recently visited in the UK. I booked the delux double bedroom and I was extremly impressed with the excellent views over Leith.

Very modern interior, right in the cehtre of everything,

I found the service and accommodations at Apex to be fantastic. The room was clean with great amenities for travelers. I also found the internet access was really helpful in staying up to date with e-mail and research work during my travel.I arrived at about 11 AM in the morning but the room was not available until 2 PM. I was able to store my luggage until the time and that was helpful. I would certainly stay here again.

Great location for a great price. We checked into a corner room that came with a massive bed, great ensuite facilities including a large bath and shower area. Large LCD TV. Free wireless internet. Swimming pool, sauna and steam room inkeeping with the quality of the hotel.

A nice modern hotel converted from government offices,seconds from Princes and not far from the station. Even the Royal Mile is only a 10 minutes away, if that! The minimal spa was a nice surprise to refresh tired feet after a long day walking. Only down side was a bar called Pivo behind the hotel which had revellers chatting loudly outside disturbing our sleep.

This hotel has about the best location you can ask for. close to royal mile and new town. Rooms are big with nice beds and a huge tv. Showers have great pressure but the water could be warmer. Very nice gym and pool for a european hotel. Nice amenities. Some things in room needed tweeking but they are brand new so I can let that slide. Front desk staff are very helpful but need to familiarize themselves a little bit more with restaraunts. 24 hour bar, yes a 24 hour bar.Overall great experience.

Great staff and service. Spa facilities and gym were great. Room was comfortable with great attention to detail - clothes brush, iron, shoe polish, tea, coffee...everything catered for. Excellent location near Prines street, George Street and Castle. There was a slight problem with noise from the building work outside but I was re-allocated a room which was stunning as soon as I mentioned any disturbance. Staff were attentive and professional. Would definitely go back!

We found this hotel to be excellent value for money with a prime location for those wishing to see the sights of Edinburgh. Room was first class and was very quiet on both nights, one of which was Friday. Restaurant was also very good and I would recommend it to anyone.

A high quality hotel, with a very modern style and decoration, just minutes from Waverly station. Swimming pool was an added bonus. The only disappointment was breakfast, which I wouldn't have in future, but I would certainly stay there again.

Only stayed one night but thoroughly enjoyed it, the staff were great and room service was first class! The hotel was in a great location for sight seeing and will definately go back if we get the chance.

This hotel is just one of them you should consider when going to Edinburgh. With all the attractions within a small walk away. The staff is certainly young, but seemingly with a far better service attitude than most other hotels I have been to before. Both the standard of the room, and the rest of the hotel is comfortable. But I would rather go out to eat breakfast than having the room service overpriced and rather boring continental breakfast. But still excellent service, and it is all brand new.

Overall a very good hotel the only critisism I would have is that when we returned at 10 pm for a nightcap at the bar there were about 20 very noisy children having a party in there.We ended up sitting at a table in the restaraunt to have a drink

My wife and I stayed here for one night while attending a concert at the playhouse which is only two minutes walk away. As it is only opened a month ago everything is brand new and spotless no complaints apart from when we checked in we were told breakfast was included in our room rate only to be told in the morning it was not.

This hotel was fantastic in all aspects. The front desk personnel were extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

I'm not sure how helpful my review will actually be, because the Apex Waterloo literally just opened (we checked in on their very first day), so it was a little chaotic and things probably weren't quite where they'll be in a short time. The staff was young, energetic, and helpful. It's in a great location right in between the Old Town and New Town and minutes from Waverly Station. The rooms are very well-appointed with a King-sized bed, 42-square inch flat screen TV, and a shower and tub in the bathroom. The hotel wasn't completely finished and I'm pretty sure we were checked into a room that wasn't ready for guests (no hangers, a box of silverware left in the room, paint chips in the carbet), but there is great potential once they get everything together. Our price was great, but I think it may have been discounted because they were trying to attract guests.

Central located near bus from airport an in mid center of town. great interior and rooms with modern design. Highly recommended. Will surely stay there again!

Nytt fint hotell. Moderne innredet, romslig hotellrom til å være i UK. Romslig, fliselagt bad med badekar og stor god dusj. Flott garderobe til et lite, men bra basseng og badstu. God frokost, men lang kø til søndags frokosten. Kort avstand til shopping på Princes street (H&M, Zara, Disney, etc), Rose Street og George street(Boss og andre dyre klesmerker).

Ble positivt overrasket over dette hotellet. Det var nyoppusset, sentralt og servicen bra super. Vi oppgraderte sånn at vi fikk et litt større rom. Frokosten var ikke helt sånn vi er vant med fra Norge, så det anbefales å spise den ute.

Dejligt hotel - der var rent og skønt alle steder. Vidunderlig wellness afdeling med swimmingpool, sauna og dampbad, som er inkluderet i prisen. Meget venligt og hjælpsomt personale. Klart et hotel, som kan anbefales.

Nous avons du monter le ton pour ne pas avoir vue sur le mur en travaux d'en face à maxi cinq metres. De plus, petite chambre malgrè notre surclassement. Au terme de notre sejour de quinze jours en Ecosse, nous sommes repassé par Edinbourg la veille de notre depart : pour le meme prix ou a peine un peu plus cher, nous avons trouve nettement mieux.
